On Wednesday, January 3rd, the Watchung Hills wrestling team defeated the Franklin Warriors 69-10. This came on senior night, as Watchung Hills was celebrating the departure of twelve seniors. Of the twelve seniors, three did not wrestle (Jake Stasil, Trey Antonelle, and Griffin Rocco). The remaining nine seniors all wrestled, and all won. This team effort created a bold statement, and foreshadows a bright future for the rest of the season.

After the match, senior Rob Saum said, “I loved the atmosphere, and the amount of people in the student section made it exciting. It’s a great way to end my high school wrestling career by winning at home with a large crowd.”

After the win against Franklin, Watchung Hills continued their dominance, winning the Finn Duals at Millburn. Watchung Hills looks to extend their winning with their next match on January 10th at Delaware Valley.
